Something about me

Hello everyone! My name is Pham Thai Phuong, a proud student at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. I was born and raised for 17 years in Hanoi, but since before primary school I have indulged in the global wonder that is internet culture, watching foreign TV shows, movies, and Youtube videos (eventually in x2 speed!). My academic strong points include Mathematics (having competed in many international competitions in junior high) and then English (currently studying in Ams’ top English class), but now I’m looking to explore and climb to the top of the worlds of Finance and Economics.

One of my most defining interests is to travel and explore different cultures. My junior high streak of math competitions has taken me to Thailand, Japan, and South Korea, while digitally, on a daily basis for more than a decade, I have engaged with an intercontinental demographic by avidly surfing the constantly updating waters of YouTube, Reddit, and Twitter on a myriad of topics, including philosophy, psychology, and money matters (especially pertaining to the American Dream). Contemplating the tremendous scope of foreign cultures, though, has also fostered in me a yearning to preserve pieces of my own, especially music through flutes. My two main instruments are the Gourd Flute and the Double Cat Flute, each having eccentric designs and bombastic sounds that nicely fit with my equally eardrum-enticing speaking voice. Perhaps the interest I’m most determined on digging deeper into, however, is the realm of investing and trading. I aspire to be a major player in Vietnam’s booming financial scene, particularly its ever-more volatile stock market, to eventually make it more stable, analyzable, and welcoming to beginners so that everyone in Vietnam could get the chance to invest.
