SympaMeals is a private charity fund established in 2005 to help poor patients in Hanoi as well as people in difficult circumstances.

It was quite coincidental when I had the opportunity to participate in SympaMeals as a volunteer. It was my first time playing Santa Claus, visiting each hospital bed, chatting, and giving the little “warrior” kids who are battling heart disease some adorable Christmas gifts.

I hope that Santa Claus can truly hear their wishes and help them recover quickly so they can return home, back to their families and school, where they rightfully belong.

One of the meaningful moments for me is visiting the young pediatric patients undergoing treatment at Hanoi Heart Hospital.

I understand that every fate, whether rich or poor, when carrying a heart disease, has lost a lot of joy in life, especially for children. We bring small and lovely gifts, sometimes toys, teddy bears, sometimes books, and sometimes homemade meals, to give to the young patients and their families.

Regularly visiting and talking with the young patients and their parents, I truly feel that I am incredibly fortunate to have a healthy body, the opportunity for good education, and a fulfilling life. At the same time, giving love and care has expanded my heart, making me more attentive to everyone.
